Dr. Vicik wants every patient to have a positive experience at each and every visit. “Our patients come first and foremost,” stated Dr. Vicik as the nursing staff nod their heads in agreement. After all, Dr. Vicik’s success is patient centered care. The nursing staff consists of Donna, RN DNC who has been a nurse with Dr. Vicik for
almost 30 years and Jenny Schmidt, RN BSN. Jenny is completing the Masters of Nursing program at SIUE. She will start her career as a Family Nurse Practitioner with Dr. Vicik early next year. Most of their attention is paid to patient education and making sure they have a positive dermatologic experience. You may also encounter two of our valuable medical assistants, Beth and Cori.

Dr. Vicik specializes in the diseases of the skin, nails and hair. Common skin disorders such as warts, acne, rosacea, psoriasis, eczema, skin cancer and allergic reactions are treated on a daily basis. Benign mole and cyst removal procedures are also performed. In recent years, skin cancer has been at the forefront of dermatology. Skin biopsies and surgical treatment of skin cancers are performed by Dr. Vicik in the office. He and his nursing staff educate patients on skin cancer identification, self skin exams and prevention of skin cancers at every visit.
Dr. Vicik also participates in research of new dermatology medications and procedures. Currently underway is the nationwide clinical research trial of a new medication for hand eczema. This trial is still open and he is enrolling patients with chronic hand eczema that has failed with topical medications. Another study being conducted is a long-term study of a medication for children with eczema.
Cosmetic services are offered as well. Dr. Vicik will consult with the patient on finding the right procedure based on the patient’s expectations. During the consultation, Dr. Vicik discusses concerns and finds solutions through a variety of products to help the patient meet his or her goals. Appearance enhancements come in a wide selection of products and procedures, including Botox® Cosmetic for dynamic fine lines and wrinkles, facial and body chemical peels, and dermal tissue fillers such as Juvedérm®, Restylane®, and Radiesse®. These products produce volume to minimize facial lines and wrinkles. These procedures are done in the office without disruption of your daily routine.
